# Human in the loop

> Pause a run for a person's approval or input, and resume it where it stopped.

## What it will do

An agent will be able to pause a run to ask a person for approval or input, and be resumed on the same session with their answer. The run ends with an `interrupt` event describing what it needs, and the next call answers it. LangGraph's interrupts will work first.

## What to use today

Model the pause as two calls on one session. The first call ends with a reply asking the question; the second sends the answer as its prompt, with the same `sessionId`. A LangGraph graph with a checkpointer picks up from its state. See [Sessions](/build/sessions).
